The 87North Team

Mind-blowing entertainment through the power of action.

87North Productions is the world-renowned action and production design company founded by producer Kelly McCormick and director/producer David Leitch. As the force behind iconic, high-quality, and bold action tentpole films such as The Fall Guy, Bullet Train, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, Deadpool 2, Atomic Blonde, Nobody, Violent Night, Love Hurts and John Wick.

McCormick and Leitch are widely recognized as leaders in the action film genre and have dedicated their work to elevate the profile of the stunt community. Leitch and McCormick led the initiative on behalf of the stunt community to confirm "Achievement in Stunt Design" as an official Oscar category, which was announced by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences in 2025 and will launch at the 100th Oscar celebration in 2028. 87North Productions also created and successfully persuaded SAG-AFTRA and the DGA to validate a new “Stunt Designer” credit, first used on The Fall Guy in 2024, to properly reflect the historic and artistic contributions of Stunt Coordinators.

Under its first-look deal with Universal Pictures, 87North Productions created The Fall Guy, with Leitch directing and McCormick and Leitch producing. Starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, the film opened at #1 to rave reviews. Other recent Universal releases which the company produced are the original Nobody (2021) and its sequel Nobody 2 (2025) starring Bob Odenkirk, Love Hurts (2025) starring Ke Huy Quan and Ariana DeBose, and Violent Night (2022) starring David Harbour.

In addition to filmmaking, in 2022 87North Productions launched its action design arm and stunt facility, co-owned by McCormick and Leitch. Located in the heart of Hollywood, the state-of-the-art studio provides a comprehensive, safe, and skilled environment where world-class stunt designers create action stunts and train actors for 87North’s own productions as well as for outside filmmakers and projects.
